‘Operational Excellence’ or ‘Execution excellence’ is the execution of the strategy more consistently and reliably’. Operational excellence is evidenced by results."
How does that apply to HR? An Operationally Excellent HR function will have better customer satisfaction, lower operating costs, increased productivity and better efficiency thereby creating higher value to its customers (employees, candidates, managers, business leaders).
Efficient processes, highly engaged "people-first" HR employees & dynamite tech are all key to driving excellence in HR. Transformation in all three areas enables HR business partners to be strategic advisors and HR center of excellence professionals to be functional experts by taking away transactional work away. This allows the whole function to focus on both the mindsets and the skillsets of employees - and getting these 2 right in parallel is what truly drives overall organizational Operational Excellence.
Adopting operational excellence tools and principles enables the HR function to create value and operate at a strategic level - because for any CHRO or HR leader, simply having a seat at the table is not enough - being able to deliver a supreme employee experience, at the right cost with sizeable benefit to the bottom line is the point.
Happy reading.
Cheers,
Wendy
